engagements and marriage are beautiful things. so why do wedding registries have to be so painful? i somehow always wait till the last minute and end up holding a 5-10 pg list of things the couple wants but already has about 1/4 and the other 1/2 the other guests have already purchased (including what i wanted to buy).
this has happened every. single. time. without fail. so a few weeks (or days) before a wedding, i'll be lost in crate & barrel or bloomingdale's or macy's or the pottery barn or some other place my friends have taken me to via request and i will have gone from really excited to shop to wanting to claw my eyes out because the bright lights are blinding me and everything starts looking the same.
i suppose i could solve the problem by purchasing things sooner but what's the fun in that?

i solve this problem by giving cash in an envelope. just take out the middle man, you know?
