i'm slowly finding out that it's a small world, and getting smaller. pretty soon, all these different worlds around me will turn into one big one and all these people i thought had nothing to do with me will be a part of my life and it'll be that much easier to adapt.
vague vague vague.
friday begins my weekend of anxiety. school starts in one week and i need to make sense of all the future plans floating around in conversation. one of my favorites: san francisco in the winter! one of my least: new years in san diego. i also completely forgot that the fine print says something along the lines of: "guys' night out in vegas is allowed." and so it is. but damn, do i love vegas.
speaking of 21: 2+ months and it's on. i can hardly contain myself. i really need to go to sleep.

a 4 month hiatus from the real world
sometimes i forget i have this thing. although i still have a little over two weeks left, i can honestly say this summer ranks in the top two in my two decades of living. and i have lived. even the occasional bout of my quarter life crisis couldn't bring me down. going back to school is gonna be a rude awakening, but... the bubble has to pop sometime.
until then, i'm green-lighting all kinds of shenanigans.
get busy, stay busy.
ps. i updated my layout and it won't let me put my music player back on my blog. so here's a link to said playlist and check my last.fm for new songs bc i haven't updated it in months and don't plan on it.

palm springs
there's no other way to describe my trip than with single words fragments because i can't stand to sit still for more than 30 minutes and i'm off to spend my saturday off making appearances to prove that i am still alive.
short summary: desert, 100-110 dg heat, swimming, spf 30, AC, morton's, night swimming at the pga west golf course, late nights, fast food, goldfish, more swimming, "keep it poppin' like orville redenbacher", olympics, crossword puzzles, morongo (+$55 at the blackjack table in 30 mins), sexy texties (and spreading the phrase)...

hello nyquil, hello sudafed
my love of swimming in the ocean has led to a little something called a sinus infection, or close to it. give it a day or so and i'll probably have a raging fever of 103.
but i'll still go at least every friday. the beach, the sun and the sand are constantly calling my name. i can never escape... i'm always at the beach whether i'm at work or on a day off. if i move away for a few years, i'll always come back. that's kind of scary. but i guess that's my brand of loyalty.
i'm so sleepy. after going to riptide (yelp it!) tonight, i don't think i'm gonna be able to eat sushi again for a while. AYCE = death.

i'm too old for my age
you know you need a new job when a bro walks up to the counter, points at you and says: "oh i don't need any shirts - i'd like to buy HER."
on another note, i wish i had time to sleep more often. being the night owl that i am, working 830-530 shifts don't mesh well with my sleep patterns. and being the social butterfly i am (syke), i rarely ever spend time in my domain (or not driving). i've only recently reemerged, but i miss the nights i spent staying in already. it may be time to disappear again and catch up on my perpetually overdue netflix.
"can this be?" you're asking.
"this can't be." you're saying.
oh, but it is.

greetings from my quarter life crisis
exhibit A: amy and i spent an hour and a half at 24 hour fitness, where she kicked my ass harder than i do my own by making the rounds and made me try machines i never knew existed. (sidenote: every time i walk into a gym - which is not often - i think the same thing: 'man, i'd hate to be a guy')
exhibit B: soon after, i went home to shower but decided it would be a better idea if i just drove down goldenwest to run from there to main st and back.
exhibit C: in about 15 minutes, i'm about to go on a bike ride with nuwan bc i haven't seen him in forever and now that my pupils no longer look like this, i don't look like i've been doing every stimulant known to man. thanks, optometrist lady.

i don't think i'm gonna be walking up and down those stairs at work tomorrow. time to work on that resume.
